§ 122-98. Safety end treatment.

(a)

All new construction along thoroughfares meeting the criteria shown in this section shall have installed safety end treatments on the culvert pipes beneath driveways or other crossings of roadside ditches. The safety end treatments shall conform to the type II end treatment as described in the latest edition of Standard Specifications of the Texas Department of Transportation.

(b)

Thoroughfares where this policy shall be enforced are all roadways within the city limits where:

(1)

The designated speed limit is 45 miles per hour or greater.

(2)

The average daily traffic volume is 15,000 vehicles per day.
