§ 18-254. Application.

  • (a)

    The application for an electrical permit shall describe the work to be done and shall be made in writing by a person holding the proper electrician's license or the homeowner.

    (b)

    The permit, when issued, shall be issued to such applicant to cover such work as described and detailed. Any change or additions must be covered by additional permits at the time changes are made.

    (c)

    The application shall be accompanied by such plans, specifications and schedules as may be necessary to determine whether or not the installation, as described, will be in conformity with the requirements of this article. No such plans, specifications and schedules will be examined under this article unless the plans, specifications and schedules are submitted by the holder of the proper electrician's license or by a homeowner.

    (d)

    A precise detailed print of the routing of all underground feeders shall be furnished to the chief building official and the owner of the premises before the electrical permit is issued for the job.

    (e)

    If it is found that the installation as described will be in general conformity to the requirements of this article and if the applicant has complied with this article, a permit for such installation shall be issued; provided, however, the issuance of a permit will not be taken as permission or as a license to violate any of the requirements of this section or any other city ordinance.
